Missionary Scripture Reference Cards!

If you have a missionary out or know one that is going out- these Scripture Reference cards are wonderful!  I was sent some to review, I gave each of the sister missionaries in our ward a set then I sent 2 sets out to my son and his companion on their mission.  They have loved them.

I also gave some to the 2 sister missionaries in our ward. The sister missionaries said they have used their reference cards a lot! They come in very handy when they are teaching investigators that have specific questions they just look at that topic on their card and can easily answer it with the scripture reference. They love that it also has the Bible references on the card so when people try to question the Book of Mormon they can also refer to the Bible. They have a lot of information on them and you can paste them right into the front of your scriptures. The only downfall is that they do not come in the mini quad size. If you are interested in them click here.

"SWIG" Cookies!

Have you been to The Swig in St. George. Utah?
Well they have a great sugar cookie there. We love to make them. Next time you are in St. George check them out!  They will be perfect for  Valentines if you add just a tint of pink food coloring to your frosting.I got the recipe here.

I love how they look like scoops of vanilla ice cream. This time  I needed a lot of cookies so I used the small cookie scoop.

When you are making them this small, you will not have a glass that small to press them down so I used the back of my small cookie scoop.

Valentine Banner!

I made these cute banners last year with my sisters. They were quick and easy and I think anyone could make them.

All you need is 1/4 yard of burlap, white paint, red paint, white or clear extra fine glitter, jute, paper clips, ribbon and a glue gun with glue.
I cut my burlap on my cutting mat with my ruler and rotary cutter. The top is six inches wide and then I cut it on a diagonal at the 3 inch middle point. You can get about 12 pennants with 1/4 yard if you are careful. I then made a heart stencil by folding a paper in half and cutting out a heart shape.  I used a foam brush to blot the red paint in the heart stencil in the middle of the pennant. Let the red paint dry completley. When dry you can dot the white dots on your heart with a sponge dabber(like the gray and white one in the picture) You can even put your stencil down again(make sure it is dry on both sides) to make your white dots go off of the heart a little, while the white paint is wet sprinkle on your glitter and then shake off excess and let dry.  When those are done- I hot glue the just to the back of the pennant and let dry.  Then tie ribbon on paper clip and clip to the top of your pennant. Makes a darling Valentind decoration!

MercoBoxes

I reviewed one of these MercoBoxes today! You can find out more info here.

I was so excited to see what was in the box! They get local merchants to put samples of their products in these fun boxes for you to try!
February's MercoBox is an assortment of amazing local products, all from Utah!

There is a small box of Hatch Chocolates(plus a $5 gift card), a bar of Beehive Soap, some Inkling scents (that smell really good!) Some NS Minerals make up (I love mineral makeup!), a Drainwig(we need this with 5 girls in the house), a $5 gift card to to Acme Camera Company, a $50 coupon code to Numanna food storage and a  Crio Bru, brewed Cocoa.
It was so exciting to open it with my family and go through it!  We fought over all the products.

Every time you purchase a MercoBox, your dollars go right back into the community, supporting jobs and local families in your area. When you shop local, everybody wins.
Get your MercoBox today! They take Utah’s finest local products, package them in their exclusive subscription box and deliver them right to your front door! Click here to sign up for yours today!

These are all my own opinions, they did send me a free box to review and one to give away. If you live in Farmington and would like to try one out- leave me a comment! Thanks

Mongolian Beef

Have you ever been to P.F. Changs restaurant or Pei Wei? And if you have- have you tried their Mongolian Beef?  I love it and I found a recipe that tastes just like it!

Sauce:
4 tsp. vegetable oil
2 tsp. ginger, minced
2 T. garlic, minced
1 C. soy sauce
1 C. water
1 C. brown sugar (packed)

In a medium saucepan over med-low heat, heat 4 tsp. vegetable oil; don't let the oil get too hot. Add ginger and garlic to the pan; quickly add the soy sauce and water to prevent the garlic from scorching. Dissolve the brown sugar in the sauce, then turn up the heat to medium and boil the sauce 2-3 minutes until it thickens a little. Remove sauce from heat.

2 lb. flank steaks
1/2 C. cornstarch
1 C. vegetable oil
3 lg green onions

Slice the flank steak against the grain in 1/4 inch slices. Dip the steak pieces in cornstarch to lightly dust all sides. Let sit for about 10 minutes. As the beef sits, heat 1 C oil in Wok or skillet. Heat the oil over medium heat until its hot but not smoking. Add the beef to the oil and sauté for just 2 minutes, or until the beef just begins to darken on the edges, stirring so the beef cooks evenly.
When the beef is cooked, use a slotted spoon to  remove the meat onto paper towels to drain; pour most of the oil out the skillet. Put the pan back over the heat, dump the meat back into it and stirfry for one minute. Add the sauce, stir and cook for 1 minute, add green onions. Cook for 1 additional minute. At this point  you can either remove the beef and eat or you can thicken the sauce and serve it over rice with the beef. So yummy super easy!
I got this recipe out of this yummy cookbook! Favorite Family Recipes by Erica Walker, Emily Walker, Elise Donovan and Echo Blickenstaff
